Day 45 in 60 Days of Halloween continues Fear of Being Eaten Alive Week (the fear of Matt Mercer) with Day of the Dead - before there was a glut of zombies in pop culture, mindlessly overtaking everything just as they do in the movies about them, George A. Romero terrified audiences with his iconic "dead" films...each of which understood that what makes zombie movies so terrifying is what the zombies represent and not the zombies themselves, while at the same time expanding on zombie lore which still has a lasting influence on most modern iterations of zombies. Day of the Dead still stands out as an amazing horror movie, with practical effects by Tom Savini that still hold up to this day!!
